The Artists

Our Journey

The Gourd Reserve was established in 1990 by Timothy Mark Moyers and his then-wife, Carmella. As passionate members of the American and Ohio Gourd Societies, they dedicated themselves to cultivating a diverse collection of gourd seeds, sharing their bounty with enthusiasts across the country. After their divorce, Carmella, with her new husband Dan, continued the mission, transforming The Gourd Reserve into a global hub for gourd cultivation and crafting. From crossbreeding experiments to international collaborations, our site celebrates the rich history and artistry of gourds. We invite you to explore our collection and join us in honoring Tim’s legacy.
